Bursting with Life

A hidden star in the dark world of deviantART, Micko-Vic is a light that anyone would want to follow.  Unfortunately elusive, I found it hard to research any real information on this mystery man (or woman).  What I've found is that Vic is an artist from Serbia who has studied culinary arts for a hobby (perhaps shedding light on his fantastic ability with a palette knife).  His distinct style is eye-catching to say the least with it's vibrant colors, bold strokes and dazzling sceneries.  His talent effectively captures the life in the bustling streets he paints, leaving the audience wanting more but being satisfied at the same time.

Melting the World

Sunga Park, South Korean designer and illustrator creates these lovely watercolor landscapes of various cities across the world including London, Paris, Busan, Istanbul, venice and Oxford.  These paintings are stunning in numerous manners; obviously aesthetically brilliant but also in a more resounding way.  One looks at each of these pieces and feels a lost memory, something everyone can relate to.  Something you wish you could remember perfectly, but is hazy with a few lines of details that you cannot shake.  The creation of a memory is a beautiful thing in and of it self, but I feel that Park truly captures these moments on paper.  I wish she could do a time-lapse of making these pieces, and truly save the movement and flow of a memory.

This one is for you.

Polish photographer Boguslaw Strempel allows us to
escape from reality and dive into the world of fantasy.

Except this fantasy is real.

Strempel arises early to capture these landscapes around Poland and the Czech Republic and we are oh-so-grateful that he does so.  Disappear for a second.  Use these as a screensaver or background.
Flee reality for a second.

Set Sail

"Polish artist Justyna Kopania utilizes her skilled hand at painting to produce stunning portraits of ships at sea."

Here are a few paintings from her Marine paintings series; a collection of oil paintings.  She successfully adds depth and texture into her paintings by not holding back on her paints.  She uses her strokes to move the painting and the audience can see this clearly.

Makes you want to reach out and touch the painting
Fall into it.   Fall away.

Piercing Blue

"The Blue Pond is located in the left bank of the River Bieigawa, southeast of the town of Biei in Hokkaido, Japan, about 2.5 km northwest from the Platinum hot springs at the foot of Mt. Tokachi. The pond gets its name from the unnaturally bright blue hue of its water. With tree stumps protruding from the surface of the water, not unlike Lake Kaindy, the Blue Pond has an ethereal and enchanting appearance."

Take a break.

I just finished my Senior Thesis and could not appreciate photographer Glazastik Finch's photos any more than right now.  These adorable children made my day that much brighter.  I hope you appreciate them as much as I did!!  Almost Winter Break 2012.

LET'S GO!

Beneath the beach

After long weeks of mentor training I am finally back and blogging.

We had one day off where the ResLife team went to the beach :)

I was a lion.

Anyhoo; remember "Waves" and the beautiful in-motion underwater photography by CJ Kale and Nick Selway?  What about the under-water surfing photos by Dustin Humphrey??

Well here I go again with another set of underwater beach photos, except this time with people.  Sarah Lee manages to capture the most beautiful under-the-ocean photos.
I wish I knew where this was shot, the water is TOO beautiful to be real.
