Born This Way

               Twins are awesome.  They're are two of the same person!!  But they're different!! (Trippy).  Everyone goes through a phase in their life where they think "Darn, I wish I had a twin."  So I'm sure everyone's heard of the old rumor "There are 3 people in the world who look EXACTLY like you, but the chances of you meeting them are extremely slim."  Well what if you do meet them??

                Meet youtube sensations Alyssa Bernal and Megan Nicole.  I've been following Alyssa Bernal since her very first singing videos, and have been obsessed since.  Megan Nicole was first introduced to me through her "Love the Way You Lie - cover" with Tyler Ward.  At first the similarities aren't too noticeable.  Until users began commenting on their videos, urging them to meet.  And so they did.  Here they are for the first time together -- long lost non-biological twins singing Born This Way by Lady Gaga.

I still can't get over how similar they look!! Eerie.  To make me the creepy feeling go away-- here are some adorable newborn twin photos!!

Calendars

               One of my classes at Uni is Digital Art I (at Pomona).  This class is a basic fundamental introduction to using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to make various design projects.  Each week we are assigned two different topics, with a specific guideline to create a work of art.  This week our task was the following:

Instructions
Calendar Grid

1. Create a spread in a two-page document. Aeach page is 7.5 x 7.5 inches.

2. Devise a weekly calendar system that devides each page into seven days, Use lines, shapes, and typography to mark and identity the space. Leave spave for a user to write down notes and appointments.

3. Think creatively about the underlying problem. The rythm and structure of the grid can be vertical or horizontal, refular or irregular, rectiliniear or diagonal.

(Yes the spelling mistakes are my teacher's...)

I thought it was a rather neat assignment!  I kept my work simple and clean-cut.  What do you think??

Screw "Doctor", let's play "Detective".

             Frances and I have been playing Detective the last few days, and I must say we're practically professionals.  People should pay us to spy, research, and solve problems.  As a result (and through inspiration from a friend's blog), I researched trendy ways to be a real detective.  Obviously there's one main accessory (other than the spyglass!) that is necessary to be a true spy.  A trench coat. 

Emma Watson as the new face of Burberry.  I've never been a huge fan of hers, but I gotta admit -- she looks gorgeous in these photos!! #WINNING.

               Sherlock Holmes: Directed by Guy Ritchie. Starring Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law, Rachel McAdams. Detective Sherlock Holmes and his stalwart partner Watson engage in a battle of wits and brawn with a nemesis whose plot is a threat to all of England.  (Quote IMDB)  I saw this film last summer in Australia and I was not thoroughly impressed.  Rachel McAdams did not belong in such a low-quality film.  But it was a cute quick watch.  Entertaining.  I guess...  Steamy Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law definitely made up for the poorly written script.  To be honest I know that Frances and I can definitely make better detectives then these people!!!

         

Baby Fever

              After spending weeks skyping with my friend and her baby, I've become obsessed with the adorableness of newborns.  Adele Enersen is another person who is apparently obsessed with her child.  She takes these super-cute photos of her child in various situations -- while the baby is sleeping.  The photos are under the blog "Mila's Daydreams".  I can only hope that one day my friend will do similar things with her baby...  

Definitely my favorite! BOOKWORM!!

               The artistic direction in this video is amazing.  The white vs black, the way both colors are integrated into each others world.  On top of that Ryan Donowho is b.e.a.utiful.  The music is eerie and perfect for the video.  I listen to this often when I'm trying to fall asleep.

A new toy!

     My friend kindly introduced me to Toy Camera Analog Color.  A photograph-adjusting free downloadable (is that a real word?) application!!  Works on Windows and Mac.  It changes the photographs that I take into more vintage-style photos!  Everything looks better if its been aged a tiny bit...

Even Eric looks better in the aged photo.  I'm going to use this application like heroin addicts use needles...  ie: obsessively.  #PUMPED.
