Metallics

THIS COMING AUTUMN....
Liquid Metallics.

Be sparkly and stand out with shine without being too over-the-top.
These slightly muted tones really put a bang to an outfit without over-powering the wearer.
Shimmery but sexy.

Pair it with dark colors or even whites.

Add some shine to the coldness.

Think outside the box!

Tip your shoes,
paint your nails,
patch your clothes.

Do it all....

Not to be mistaken with sparkly sequins!!

Blast of white.

Ukrainian photographer Anton Surkov is quite elusive,
I couldn't find much background information on him.

All I know is this:
This guy rocks my socks.

The most brilliant mix of dance and photography without it being dance photography.
He manipulates the model's bodies to fit his needs, but doesn't force the shoot to seem choreographed.
The power, the powder (haha get my pun) and the emotions are all so RAW.

Tweeter

Hello all,

I have been so off/on with my posts that I've decided to start a twitter dedicated to my blog.
Follow my twitter and you won't have to keep checking to see if I've uploaded a new post!

I'll also post various links to other interesting sites I see.

Make it easier on the both of us,

Follow.

xoxo

Shadows crawling into rooms.

Artist Mary Temple successfuly PAINTS these shadow scenes into various rooms and spaces, thus transforming the entire arena.

Uh, what?

This series titled "Light Installations" uses silhouettes of actual natural landscapes and venues that she has seen/photographed (see video) and uses them to paint in various rooms.

Raw Flesh

Do you remember Howard Schatz from my "Connect" blog post?
I present my second selection of his works.

I chose this series as a group of photos where the human body is represented in it's finest form.
The fittest, most agile form there is.

The dancer's form.

He is such a winner.  Seriously though. Who are these people...?

Skateboarding in the 60s

These photographs of people in New York City were taken by Bill Eppridge in the mid-60s.

"While the concept of the sport and makeshift models of the skateboard were introduced sometime in the 40s or 50s, it was in the mid-1960s that skateboarding truly flourished and Eppridge was there to catch it in all its glory for a lifestyle spread in LIFE Magazine. In his series titled Skateboarding in New York City, Eppridge exhibits the joy and excitement of zooming down a city street and playfully riding past pedestrians on a thin, wheeled board, as clearly evidenced through the skateboarders' beaming faces." U.S.A

Lollapalooza 2012 did not dissapoint in regards to patriotism.
Right and left wherever I went I saw USA gear; hats, scarves, shirts, pants, capes(?) and more.
These photos are a select few that I photographed on Saturday.

A little overwhelming, no?

Chancellor Warhol

“She’s like, ‘I don’t even do light skin’

That’s cool. Turn off the lights then.”

--------------

Striking high on my top performances from Lollapalooza 2012,  Chancellor Warhol was a serious delight.  Not only was he super damn cute, but he was an AMAZING performer.
Low-key, he performed at the BMI stage which was a little out of the way. A much smaller venue than the rest, but that just made it even better for us.  I was literally up against the rail staring at him.

Can't wait to follow him as he shoots up in the music industry.
