Right Place

http://www.kosai.info/
This reminds me of myself...

Valentina

Another creative series of photos by nirimmi (who did the Of Blood and Bones series found earlier in my blog.  Something interesting about these photos is how classy all the models look, yet the feel is more of a strange quirkiness.

Daydreams

William Wordsworth

I could daydream forever.  Any place, any time.

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed--and gazed--but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

Exhale

(Amazingly, this photo was photoshopped to look like it was underwater, yet is actually not underwater!  Amazing graphic skills.)

Girl who wanted to grow up.

Another photographer I came across merely by chance.  Wendy Liu is a 19year old photographer, and in my eyes a complete genius.  She captures a story in her old-fashioned photographs.

Everything seems to have age and wisdom behind it - I can't believe she's basically the same age as me.  Going off the theme of this week; here is a series of photographs about a girl who wanted to grow up.  (In my mind though, I feel like the series should be named "Girl who didn't want to grow up"

There's something super MAGICAL about these photos.

Time Flies

知らないうちに二十歳になってしまいました。
時間は本当に早く過ぎちゃうね。
I can't believe I'm already 20.

Winnie the Pooh

Winnie the Pooh hits theaters on July 15th, 2011.
Cast: Jim Cummings, Craig Ferguson, Tom Kenny, Travis Oates, Bud Luckey

I love everything about this film.  I adore that they kept the old-fashion feel with the illustrations, mixing it in with modern music.  I love Keane's "Somewhere Only We Know".
This film brings back so many memories of my childhood -- I'm so excited to watch it finally!
Pooh-san is SO CUTE.

Nostalgia

Looking at all these "nostalgia" photos and movie trailers made me dig up some old photos of me and my brother.  He is two years older than me.  These are photos from the Japanese Holiday 七五三 (753) which Japanese children ages 7, 5, and 3 are celebrated.
I was 3 and my brother was 5.

Of Blood and Bone

I found this photographer out of chance - she's just a teenager!  I believe she was 18 or 19 when she took these photos.  Absolutely brilliant.  I don't know her real name, but in her site she goes as "nirrimi"  I'll have tons of her photos in upcoming blog posts.  Everything she does is just so real and legit.  It's not just "pretty" photography, there's so much depth and meaning behind each photo.

Shatter!

Finally got my hands on the new OPI Shatter nail polish.  It comes in different colors and I was torn between the black and turquoise, but chose black because it'll match the most colors.  I absolutely love it.  Everyone must get one.

I used a pearl color as my base :)

"Chivalry is Dead"

Rodney Smith disagrees.  His photos are absolutely stunning.  A perfect combination of Romanticism, Adorableness, and Coy. (You get what I mean...)  A perfect beacon of hope to people who think that chivalry is dead.  And the photos are just so happy-inducing...

Effy sees everything.

Kaya Scodelario plays Effy in the British show Skins.  She is a British actress and model, and she's absolutely stunning.  One of her key traits are her eyes - which are usually enhanced on the show with smoky makeup to add on to her "badgirl" character.
What does the world look like behind eyes like this I wonder...
